I like to work from the live subject... there is no photo that can capture the personality, flesh tones, colors or lighting like working from a live model. After discussion about the details of the portrait, an initial 2-3 hour sitting is required, at which time do I take reference photos to use later on my own as a reminder of clothing and background. Additional sittings may be required depending on how involved the portrait.
